Job Description
The Finnish Embassy is searching for a competent Programme Coordinator for Civil Society Cooperation. The Programme Coordinator works as part of the Development Cooperation team of the Embassy.
The Finnish Embassy is searching for a competent Programme Coordinator for Civil Society Cooperation. The Programme Coordinator works as part of the Development Cooperation team of the Embassy.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Programme Coordinator’s main duties and responsibilities are:
1. Management of the Local Cooperation Fund (LCF) of the Embassy
• Preparing and administrating the calls for proposals
• Actively communicating with partner organisations and following up on the on-going projects
• Administrative processes and financial management of LCF projects
2. Embassy Civil Society Focal Point
• Analysis and reporting on civil society, governance and human rights
3. Any other duties assigned by the Ambassador

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience related to Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) development cooperation projects
• Experience in results based management and risk management in development cooperation
• Experience in governance and human rights agenda in Tanzania
• Excellent interpersonal skills including communication and team work skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili
• Proficiency in report writing in English
• Fluency in computer skills (most common office programmes, ability to learn MFA internal systems)
• Preparedness for travelling and flexible hours
• Enthusiasm and ability to take on new challenges
• Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams

Working Conditions
The Programme Coordinator will mainly work at the Embassy of Finland in Dar es Salaam, and occasionally also travel around the country to manage the cycle of the LCF.
